The SILICONE CANCER STUDY RESULTS
Dear Caroline,
As you probably know already, the Canadian Breast Implant Study was very large and complicated, and it took approximately four years to reach the stage where the provinces (Ontario and Quebec) had collected the data and
assembled the cohort required. This data was submitted to Statistics Canada for approval of the cohort/mortality/cancer incidence linkage process. In August 2002 Statistics Canada released the linked data to
Ontario and Quebec so that the cancer staging information could be added to the linked records.
Provincial ethic review board approvals was required prior to the release of the staging information to the Health Canada coordinators. The data was received in July 2003 and analysis of the data has started. Currently we are in the process of calculating the cancer incidence rates of the cohort. We will then compare these rates to those of the general population in Quebec and Ontario. The results should be available by the end of October 2003.

WHERE ARE THEY? WHY HAS IT TAKEN SO LONG TO RELEASE? ---there are women
NEEDING to KNOW ---this study was a large one --40,000 implanted women
in canada ---we need to know because there are two manufacturers in
america who are TRYING TO GET A "NEW SILICONE " ON THE MARKET --its not
new ---its just a "JELLO" form of silicone ----which can break off or
flake off and get into the womans system --there is an FDA HEARING IN
OCT 14 & 15 HERE IN THE USA ----AND WE NEED THE CANADA CANCER STUDY
RESULTS ---there have been 2 studies done here in the USA that showed
LUNG CANCERS AND BRAIN CANCERS INCREASE AND ALSO SOME FEMALE
REPRODUCTION AREAS HAD CANCERS ---and now we NEED THE LARGEST STUDY
---why ? why when the study could help women make a life altering choice
do you DRAG IT OUT AND HOLD IT ? PLEASE TELL ME IT IS NOT THE DOW
CORNING BAKRUPCY MESS THATS CAUSING THIS HOLD-UP ???? and DONT tell me
that the manufacturers or the government of canada would cause this
study to be HELD -----????? THIS IS "LIVES" ---WOMEN TRYING TO MAKE
CHOICES WITHOUT BENIFIT OF THE TRUTH AND THE FACTS ----these STUDYS
should have been done BEFORE THE IMPLANTS WERE EVER PUT INTO A HUMAN
BODY -----BUT SINCE THE GREED OVERCAME ETHICS ---WE THE VICTIMS WHO ARE
SICK NOW BECAME THE LOSERS ---dont let this happen to more young lives
---and familys the long term ---second generation of toxic chemical
poisoning SHOULD be INVESTIGATED FULLY BEFORE THE VICTIMS GET ILL AND
HAVE GENERATIONS OF RUINED LIVES ---this is common sense and justice and
ethics -----so HEALTH CANADA ---WHERE IS THE TEST RESULTS THAT WERE
PROMISED A YEAR OR TWO AGO ?????? ITS YOUR CITIZENS LIVES AND WE WONDER
WHY YOU ARE NOT CONCERNED MORE AND DOING MORE TO GET THIS IMPORTANT
STUDY OUT ---WE IN THE USA ARE NOT GOING TO SIT BY WHILE MORE OF OUR
WOMEN AND CHILDREN BECOME SICK BECAUSE OF LEGAL GAMES ---AND MORAL
INJUSTICE ----we are getting more and more help from our LEGISLATORS IN
OUR CONGRESS AND WE WILL FIND THE CAUSE OF THIS DELAY ---LIVES ARE WAY
MORE IMPORTANT THAN MONEY -----PLEASE TELL ME THE ANSWER ----I AM A
SUPPORT LEADER IN NEVADA STATE AND I AM SPEAKING AT THE FDA HEARING AND
WILL CONVEY ANY INFORMATION I CAN FIND ----THANKS ---CAROLINE BROMM ----
