While Pam Dowd was opening evidentiary files from breast implant litigation, she found the following KOKEN letter, among a whole bunch of legal releases from the early 90's where these two companies paid for replacements for some of the women. The women apparently got nothing for pain and suffering but had to release the companies from any further legal problems caused by silicone gel breast implants. In exchange, their explants were paid for by the company, including the doctor's fee. They were replaced with saline implants. Pam wonders where these women are now. . .and so do I.

Pam goes on to state in her accompanying message to this evidentiary material, "When Porex took over Koken, they requested the number of returned Koken implants for the previous 5 years. The document does not say how many patients are represented but there were 5,351 replaced implants in a 5 year period. In 1991, Porex returned all available Koken implants to Japan when Porex withdrew from the implant market in the US."

I am fine thank you. I am little bit confusing your fax following is one we think correct. Please advise.

POREX returned 868 implants Y5,112,520 -- KOKEN received and have to refund

POREX now sending 503 implants Y2,962,670 -- KOKEN will receive and have to refund

Although KOKEN received 868 implants earlier and 503 implants is still in sailing for Tokyo port and we are not receiving it, therefore practically KOKEN has to refund you 5,112,520 yen faster, however it is big amount for us so paid smaller one first. This is what we did up to now. But you thought that KOKEN's 2,962,670 yen payment is the part of the payment of 5,112,520 yen.

Let me discuss with accounting dept. and let you know how soon we can refund 2,49,850 yen--which is the part of 868 implants Y5,112,520. As you know we are not big and rich company, please do not expect to have it at once, hahahaha.
