BHOPAL, India (AP) - In a May 27 story about a protest by survivors of the 1984 cyanide gas leak at a Union Carbide plant in Bhopal, The Associated Press erroneously reported that U.S.-based Dow Chemical now owns the factory. Instead, the plant is under the control of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Dow Chemical Co. purchased Union Carbide in 2001, seven years after Union Carbide sold its interest in the Bhopal plant.
