The bill would sweep away vitally important mental health, cancer, diabetes, maternity care, children's services and preventive care services for workers and their families. It would still allow insurers to ignore state laws that make sure coverage is available for older and sicker workers, and would raise premiums for many Americans who need coverage most.

Amendments are being proposed to trick senators into voting for the bill, but the changes suggested are cosmetic at best.

S.1955 is bad medicine. Don't let the Senate run over the rights of your state to mandate progressive health insurance. Contact the Senate today, and tell your senators to vote "NO" on S. 1955!
