My sister and I loved Easter even more than most kids, because in addition to getting new shoes and dresses and a whole lot of candy, we got to see our parents prepare for the big day. My Mom decorated the whole house in pastel crepe and bunny figures, and my Dad set up traps in the yard, to try to catch the Easter Bunny. "This year, I'm pretty sure we'll get him," he said, every single year. And every year, on Easter morning, each trap was sprung. The "Easter Bunny" had left us a note in each one, telling us that we'd been very good, but that our father was sort of silly.

Silliness aside, we actually did do some Easter stuff unrelated to candy, rabbits and decoration. Every year, our father read us the Easter story. And then he played Jesus Christ Superstar, but it was the '80s, so that was totally OK.
