MESSAGE FROM MARLENE KEELING

Oct. 13th Deadline

www.BreastImplantAwareness.org/CANDO.htm

I need mother's with sick children born after implantation with silicone breast implants to contact me immediately. This event planned for October 27 th will only happen if we get 30 to 45 women to step forward with information by Oct. 13th. You do not need to come to D.C. we only need your child's photograph (can be one as a young child to protect identities), only first name will be used (no last name), only state will be revealed (no city will be mentioned), and you can stipulate that you do NOT want to be contacted by your local media (if you wish to maintain your family's privacy). Your child's symptoms and diagnoses will be listed. We still need mother's to commit to travel to Washington, D.C. for the October 27th event (we need about eight). This is a rare pportunity to focus on our children's health. If we do not get enough women – this event will not happen.

    2. Mother's implant history (year implanted, type of implant…silicone, polyurethane covered, textured, double-lumen…year explanted and status of implant when removed

MESSAGE FROM COMMAND TRUST NETWORK, IN THE KNOW AND TOXIC DISCOVERY

October 9th Deadline
Monday, October 9 is the last day you can submit comments to the FDA on platinum. Whether you've already submitted a comment or not it is imperative that YOUR VOICES ARE HEARD! We must tell the FDA what has happened to our health and how it has affected our lives and the lives of our children and our families. Submitting your story is not a difficult process. You can do it right now, at your computer. 1) Share your personal story writing a paragraph or two about your health problems since receiving breast implants. Were you healthy prior to implants? It is important that the FDA be made aware of this fact. 2) If you have a child who was born after you received implants and who also suffers from health problems then PLEASE share this important information in your letter to FDA. 3) If you have been tested for Platinum then please note this in your letter to the FDA telling them what was tested and what your levels of Platinum are. Simply stated, we don't know the cause of the health problems we have experienced after implantation nor do we know whether platinum from breast implants have added to our health problems (it certainly could not have helped). Isn't it beyond time that we learn what has caused so many of us to be ill? Isn't it time FDA protects the women and children of this Nation from harmful chemicals? Go to your computers now! Write the FDA. Encourage every woman you know that had/has
breast implants to do the same! DO NOT CONTINUE TO SUFFER IN SILENCE! Let us finally make our voices heard in Washington. You can submit your comment online at the FDA website. Go to
http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/oc/dockets/comments/CommentSearch.cfm?CID=&AGENCY=FDA
and type in 2006P-0151 in the Docket ID field. From there, click on the "submit comment" button on the right side of the page, fill in the fields and submit your comments. If you prefer to submit a hard copy of your comments, please send them to: Dockets Management Branch (HFA-305)Food and Drug Administration5630 Fishers Lane, Room 1061 Rockville, MD 20852 Be sure to include the Docket ID 2006P-0151, your name and address, and the fact that you are submitting comments as an individual consumer. Please submit your comments right away. The FDA will only accept comments through October 9 – NEXT MONDAY. Thank you for your help in working to ensure that FDA makes safety come first in its decision about silicone breast implants.

MESSAGE FROM THE HUMAN ADJUVANT DISEASE CORP.FDA SCIENTIFIC FAIRNESS FOR WOMEN ACT (HR 6235)
The FDA Scientific Fairness for Women Act (HR 6235) will elevate the authority of the Office of Women's Health in the FDA. This bill directs the FDA to review and evaluate scientific data on the use of emergency contraception by females under 18 and to ensure that decisions about silicone gel breast implants will be made with an understanding of the scientific questions regarding the safety of these products.
HR 6235 would require the FDA to define the life of silicone breast implants and require safety to be demonstrated for the life of the device prior to approval. It will also hold the FDA accountable for its actions if silicone breast implants are approved.

It would be mandatory for the FDA to list potential members of the FDA’s breast implant advisory committees before the meeting and not allow any exemptions for financial conflicts of interest. This legislation would also require that the FDA oversee a panel of independent scientists to design and conduct a study on platinum and platinum salts in the bodies and breast milk of women with silicone breast implants.
Women exposed to silicone breast implants have platinum levels that exceed that of the general population. In the human body implants are exposed to stress and heat, which can cause deterioration and oxidation. The oxidation states of the platinum indicate that the exposure may be toxic. Platinum species remain in the body for a long time after implants are removed. Platinum salts have been associated with carcinogenicity and neurotoxicity.

HR 6235 was introduced by Rep. Rose DeLauro (D-CT) and eleven cosponsors including Maurice Hinchey (NY), John Conyers (MI), Sheila Jackson-Lee (TX), Susan Davis (CA), Hilda Solis (CA), Jim McDermott (WA), Linda Sanchez (CA), Fortney 'Pete' Stark (CA), James Moran (VA), Raul Grijalva (AZ), and Lois Capps (CA)

Thank you for your time and effort in supporting our cause to inform others about the complications associated with silicone implants. I have recently included a guestbook section at http://www.freewebs.com/implants/guestbook.htm on the H.A.D.C. website for those who would like to share their implant stories with others and for those who would like to offer encouragement to women with implant-related complications. If you have a website or web page, you may add your link to this section.
Sincerely,

Pamela J. Jones
