Letter I wrote to CBC (By Sandra Laliberte)

To CBC:

I was in this article and briefly in the news segment and I would like to clarify a few things first of all there is a large amount of women who are ill there has been thousands of adverse reports made to the FDA on the illnesses and complications of breast implants this is very easy to check. I am upset that I was even asked to be in this interview as it showed really nothing of the interview or the side of many of us who are ill and who have been injured due to the implants.

It appears to me that it was more leaning towards the doctors and people who want them on the market.

When Health Canada did there media release today what really stood out to me was when they said the implant would be under a class 4 categories and that means it is considered a medical device with potentially serious risks no one questioned health Canada on this classification of what the Doctors, mentor and Inamed tout as a safe implant.

ALso the Doctor on the news broadcast said that if they were to break they wouldn't be the cause of any women illness what a strange thing for him to state. The manufacturers have a sloppy record which is also available through the FDA of not following through with there studies nor following through with implant women under under there study when they were in front of the FDA they lost track of many of the women. They never followed up with women who dropped out nor women who had there implants removed. This is all public record.

There is also the issue with mentor of destroying data showing the leaking of the implants and there has been a citizens request for a probe into a criminal investigation against them. Health Canada has done a very negligent act again today to women in Canada all so the manufacturers and the plastic surgeons could monetarily gain, this is a despicable act for our Government to once again do especially for a non life threatening medical device that is 100% unnecessary.

I will have to wait and see how the class action case goes against this government that I along with Merchant Law Group filed to see if they will once and for all be held accountable for there actions. As I also said in the interview I thought was going to air this un necessary surgery is not going to be on the backs of the plastics surgeons, manufacturers or for that matter health Canada officials when the complications begin and the re-operations begin, and the illnesses begin the Canadian Tax Payer will carry the cost of there decision that was made today.

It also should of been asked of health Canada why when they knew the FDA had refused approval of implant why they readily approved the very same companies implants, also why did it not come up that the panel they had convened for this had 3 members on there who all received monies from either Mentor or Inamed. These people should not of been on due to a conflict so this needs to be really answered, I wonder what incentives were given to the panel members who lied and put Canadian women at a big risk.
