New idea for a new study group for Mentor and Inamed Implants
I thought we should start a petition to see how many Health Canada and Federal government employees would like to receive a free pair of Inamed or Mentor breast implants so as they can participate in the agreed to 10 year study after being approved.
The head woman from Health Canada should have no objections becoming the first to be implanted after all she has decided along with the tainted panel they put together they are safe, so I think anyone who feels they should implant her for free with this wonderful new and improved implant please email me and we will get a list together of how many people really want to see them have this procedure. I am sure if neither we get enough signatures Inamed nor Mentor would have any problems doing this for free.
Then we can send it to our Members of Parliament I am expanding this to also involve American citizens as well, since the actions of our Government will likely affect the FDA's decision on Breast Implants being approved it may as well reach across the border.
Also Mentor and Inamed are 2 American companies and our Government has made a choice that Corporate America and the plastic surgery associations financial gain is more important than the Health and lives of women in Canada and soon the United States.

The reason we are doing this Petition is because the conservative government ran on an accountability platform to win this last Federal election.
We feel strongly that there was political pressure put onto our Government to approve the implants from the Manufacturers and the Plastic Surgery association.
This Government has shown us that they are only accountable to the Manufacturers and plastic surgeons.
We want this Health Department to answer to Canadians on how they could not see the conflict with the members of this panel
It has come to our attention that certain panel members are also being asked to be expert witnesses for the class action suit I and other provinces filed, this is a huge conflict and one member stated to a reporter that the conflict questionnaire form is vague, this does not give Health Canada the go ahead to have conflicting panel members.
We believe Health Canada's Conflict Form is deliberate and this needs to be addressed before parliament.
We also feel that if the Conflict clause is open to interpretation or is so vague it needs to be re-written it is only right as it will then protect Canadians from further harm by a pharmaceutical company or medical device company.
I also find it very suspicious that before this approval came down the manufacturers had projected there sales of implants for 2006 how could that be when Inamed was denied approval by the U.S. FDA unless of course they knew all along the approval would be given and the panel and the forum Health Canada put forth was all just a show and nothing else.
We want (demand) Health Canada to be more elaborate on the actual documents Inamed and Mentor submitted particularity rupture rates on Mastectomy women and cosmetic women.
Connective tissue disease studies.
Re-operation rates in the studies they provided.
We want Health Canada to submit to the media how many women were in the study.
How many were followed and the duration of the study.
The FDA stated last year that they had lost track of a good majority of the women in the studies.
I want the stats on how many removed their implants due to any complications.
This to me is very important, as the Canadian Tax Payer in this Country will get stuck with the costs of this.
We are very angry at this Government that is in Power right now and I do believe they are only concerned in this situation with the financial vested interests of the manufacturers and plastic surgeons.
How many times do we have to hear a new implant and better than the last ones before it becomes painstakingly obvious that there is no safe implant on the market?
The so many unanswered questions need to be answered or it will be like a snow ball going down a hill the problems Canadian and American women will be faced with will only grow larger.
Plastic surgeons like to put a spin on it called women have a right to choose this is not so. Women choices do not and should not be what is the deciding factor in an unstudied medical device they don't get that right it is up to our Health agency and the Government to provide and demand that the manufacturers show the device is safe anything less in my mind is negligent.
Sincerely
