Environmental Working Group — Bulletin

Please put us on the top of YOUR list of groups to support this year by making a tax-deductible year-end gift to EWG.

Dear Friend,

We're flattered when journalists describe the Environmental Working Group as an effective watchdog. If only we didn't have to bark all the time...

We bark when government agencies refuse to do their jobs — like vigorously protecting the public health (without EWG having to constantly peek over their shoulders).

We bark when chemical companies use their multimillion-dollar lobbying budgets to fight our public health agenda.

Help us bark even louder in 2007.
Make your tax-deductible year-end gift to EWG today.

Our battles will be hard-fought in 2007, even with a friendlier Congress. We will press for these important policy changes:

  • A new toxics law that requires that chemicals be proven safe for kids BEFORE they start showing up on the store shelves and in their bodies. Today, most kids have hundreds of chemicals in their bodies, even at the moment of birth, with virtually nothing known about the risks. That's hundreds too many and we have to stop it.
  • A new food policy that directs our tax dollars toward helping family farmers take care of the land while growing safe, healthy food. Currently, billions of dollars go to the largest agribusinesses while the vast majority of family farmers get little or nothing at all.

This coming year, we know we have the best opportunity yet to make real progress toward protecting our children from the pervasive chemical contamination to which we are all exposed. And our adversaries know that. But we can't do it without your help. Click here to make a big impact with your tax-deductible gift of $50, $100, or $200 to EWG before December 31st.

With your support, we can continue our critical investigative studies, our cutting-edge advocacy and our highly regarded role as a guardian of public health and the environment. I hope that you'll keep this watchdog on patrol and thanks for your ongoing support of the Environmental Working Group.

Ken Cook
President

PS: Last year, The Hill — a non-partisan weekly newspaper covering Congress — named EWG one of Washington's 10 most effective watchdog organizations. We were the only environmental group on the list.
