Karen, thanks for sending....the sad thing really is that the sobering reality is that silicone gel breast implants (this would include the now FDA approved silicone breast implants as silicone is silicone---cohesive or not) and other types of silicone implants have PROTEINS detected that accumulate on the surface of these devices and PROTEIN EXCESSES are common in many diseases, primarily those that STIMUALTE THE IMMUNE RESPONSE, (stimulate the immune response like with genetics/genes/key genes that may be elevated/exerted into whatever disease risk) like myeloma (various cancers), lupus, RA, multiple sclerosis, sarcoidosis, scleroderma, other cancers, other diseases of autoimmunity...ALL in which may present as classic disease or disease-like....also via the placental barrier through fetal cells.

The problem is PROTEIN and everyone (FDA, MENTOR, Inamed, plastic surgeons) are all just wasting more time, money and LIVES with more so-called new cohesive gel breast implants...BECAUSE THE FACT IS: silicone is silicone...and protein accumulates on the surface of silicone breast implants and other silicone implants & PROTEIN EXCESSES are common in many diseases, primarily those that STIMULATE THE IMMUNE RESPONSE....so here we have CAUSATION OF Silicone (which would include Silicone breast implants and other various implants).

It is time to either make breast implants and other implants PROTEIN FREE (with DIFFERENT MATERIALS) which understanding that would take another 100 + years ....or understand stem cells to grow tissue in a mold and have blood supply to to the tissues that are grown so that a BREAST IMPLANT is embraced by the human body & one's genetics.

Listen, these women are making poor "choices" (APPROVED BY: the FDA and their so-called blue ribbon panel) and the choices these gals are making will bite them in the back end sooner than later because silicone gel breast implants has a PROTEIN issue...they will be the new faces with the same old stories. And that really is the sobering truth.
