I read Dr. Shapiros comments on womens right to choice when it comes to reconstruction with breast implants. This is quite frankly exactly what the manufacturers of breast implants set out to do with physicians as stated in a Burston Marstellar document that stated we have to start a grass roots campaign to get women shouting they have a right to choice.

In the situation right now women not only do not have this right nor should they, it is not for them to yell choice when it is up to our health regulatory agency in Canada to demand that these medical devices are safe. This has yet to be done, what health canada did instead was grant these two manufacturers Inamed and Mentor licences to use women as guinea pigs for 10 years, not even starting for another year to prove they are safe. Women have to understand that the approval just given to these companies was not a seal of safety on the devices.

So while Dr. Shapiro advocates choice she would be better served being honest with the women who are asking legitimate health questions.

Women will never know if they are safe until health canada is forced to do what they were mandated to do and that is to protect canadians from harmful medical devices and drugs, until the lobbyists are stopped and the companies are forced to not be able to submit data that only benefits them canadians lifes are at risk every day, all so some greedy manufacturers, and
plastic surgeons could make a buck of women by telling them they aren't complete without breast implants in.

Until the Doctors are willing to state themselves that they will take full responsibilty if a woman becomes ill or injured I would run from them, even they won't put themselves on the line that far, that is a redflag.

If these implants are so safe why would the FDA put panel members on who had a vested interest in these being approved, then come out with a lame excuse of we couldn't find anyone else.

Canadian women deserve the truth!

Regarding the post I sent in and was posted I made an error and it should of read:
