MIAMI (CBS4) ―

If you're considering breast implants, you might want to consider this –a bra that could give you bigger bust without surgery and without needles.

The Brava bra was invented by a South Florida plastic surgeon, and some experts say it's the "next breast thing" in cosmetic medicine.

For Evelyn Davila being small-breasted has always been a bid deal.

"I've always been small-breasted," Davila told CBS4's Dr. Sean Kenniff. "I've considered a breast implant."

But she didn't want surgery and the possible risks of breast implants. So she tried a supposedly bust-building bra called Brava.

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Roger Khouri invented Brave to fill a need for women like Evelyn. He says the premise simple.

"About 15 years ago breast implants were in the hot seat, and I thought there should be an easier way to do this than inserting the implants" said Davila. "I knew that if you stretched tissue it grows," said Khouri.

Brava works by what scientists call tension induced growth. First soft plastic domes are placed over each breast and connected to a small vacuum device called Smartbox. When turned on the vacuum gently expands the breast. Over time, that stretching causes new breast tissue to form.

Studies suggest whether a cup A, B or C you might see results.

The Brava bra comes in eight different sizes, and a lot of time a woman will sort of graduate into a larger cup size as the breast tissues grows. However the process is very slow.

"The growth is really 1 milliliter a day, basically a drop a day of sustained use," said Khouri.

Users can expect an increase of one cup size if Brava is worn for ten hours everyday for at least ten weeks. Even Dr. Khouri admits patients need to be motivated.

"This is no quick fix," explains Khouri. "This is for the women who knows that if you want to get something good you got to work at it." "This is for patients--with patience."

Dr. Khouri says the more you wear Brava, the more growth you'll get results.

The prices of the systems range from $900 to $1,500.

Davila says that's money that she spent was worth it. "No surgery whatsoever, there's gaining no weight."

Brava is now getting results during breast reconstruction surgery for women who have had a mastectomy due to breast cancer. And if Brava is used with liposuction and lipotransfer- where doctors remove fat from the buttocks and inject it into the breast. The size results can be comparable to breast implant and in many cases it's permanent.
Several doctors in the South Florida area offer Brava. Visit www.mybrava.com or call 1-800-407-5304 for more information.
