Dow Corning reports record sales

Dow Corning Corp. is reporting record sales as global demand for its silicon and silicone-based products increased for the third quarter.
"We've had double-digit sales growth in every major area that we have," said Jarrod Erpelding, a spokesman for the Williams Township-based company.
Dow Corning, a joint venture between Dow Chemical Co. and Corning Inc., announced third-quarter earnings of $162.7 million, compared to $156 million for the same quarter in 2006.
It was the seventh consecutive quarter of record sales the company has reported.
Total sales for the quarter were $1.24 billion, up 8.8 percent from sales of $1.14 billion a year ago.
The company is not publicly traded; its parent companies share the revenues.
