According to Plastic Surgeon Dr. G. Patrick Maxwell, in Nashville, Tennessee, and one of the inventors of breast implant technology, "Saline implants, having a less natural feel and shape, essentially relegated breast augmentation to a volume enhancement operation until recently. These devices will enlarge breasts but offer little option for the aesthetic considerations of form and proportion which truly define female beauty.
