UC Berkeley to receive $10 million from Dow Chemical Foundation-Dow, buys off someone else to keep quiet is; how this should read IMHO! Since when has Dow, helped any of the victims they've toxically harmed by various un scrouplous means? Nor has Dow, compensated millions of breast implant victims, agent orange veterans or Asbestos victims! Instead, Dow, bought up all the labs our blood work is done at, and has our private names.

BERKELEY, Calif.—The University of California, Berkeley, will be getting a $2 million gift from the Dow Chemical Co. Foundation for research on ideas and products designed to minimize harm to future generations.

In announcing the gift Tuesday, a school official said some of the projects could include increasing the level of clean drinking water in impoverished parts of the world or looking at alternative and renewable energy materials.

Dow Chemical said in a letter to the university that it would pledge $2 million over the next 12 months, and expressed an intention to give up to $10 million over the next several years.

The announcement of the money from Dow comes as UC Berkeley deals with a controversy for partnering with oil giant BP in a $500 million program to research biofuels.
