Breast self examination (BSE) is to be performed each month in addition to an annual mammogram or a clinical exam. Knowing your cyclical changes, what is normal for you, and what regular monthly changes in the breast feel like is the best way to keep an eye on your breast health. It takes just 15 minutes a month, and should be done no matter what your menopausal status is. Follow the pictures and text to do your BSE.

Metastatic breast cancer is diagnosed when cells from the original breast tumor have spread beyond your breast to other parts of your body.
