The Bridge ~ Step 86 ~ Good News

That which you think about all day long is what you manifest.

It's the Law.

From one perspective it appears we don't spend much of our time really putting our attention on the good things that happen in our world. We're either too distracted by life's twists and turns, or we've become numbed by the media, not realizing that the media has no intention of helping us create peace or happiness for ourselves. Indeed, the media people are simply an extension of those who are propagating all of our unrest. They have a vested interest in the status quo and their prevailing attitude is" Who wants to hear good news anyway? Good news doesn't raise our ratings, or make for good copy, or get people excited, etc."

Well I, for one, would love to hear the Good News. I'd love to turn the channel or open the newspaper to a place where only good news is presented, a place where creativity, invention, personal success stories, and the like are shared and celebrated.

Make no mistake, I am not talking about the "good news" which is a precursor for scarcity and tragedy, such as, "It looks like the price of gas is going to top off at XX dollars per gallon this summer," or "It looks like less people will be getting such and such disease now that the new inoculations are ready for distribution." No, I'm not interested in these same old ploys that have, embedded within them, the seeds for future problems. After many years of being barraged by these kinds of statements, I've come to see that they are really reinforcing our beliefs in sickness and scarcity. Why else would we be talking about these things if we weren't being prepared to experience them?

He took a long swallow of his drink. "This new memo is just another example of their same old double talk. I feel like they're getting us ready to drop the ASL (Accumulated Sick Leave) by telling us it's in pretty good shape. It's the same hogwash with the talk of war on the six o'clock news. They told us last winter that relations were improving with that place whose name I still can't pronounce. They treated it like good news. They said that there was very little chance of conflict. If there's no chance of conflict, then why do they bother to mention it at all? They were just setting us up, because, sure as can be, there's war now. Every time I hear the good news, I get a little nervous, Lena. If the ASL is in such good shape, then why are they even talking about it? I feel like it's a setup, a sneaky little ambush."

From The Intenders of the Highest Good

The Good News I'm talking about doesn't have a downside. It only speaks of peace, of safety, of limitless creativity, of examples of people living in joy and harmony with Mother Earth and all her amazing creatures. Contrary to popular belief, there is no shortage of happy stories; in fact, there are so many that we could fill our good newscasts and the pages of our goodnewspapers many times over with them if we would but choose to do so.

I am absolutely certain that if we were to take the benefits we receive from all of the violence, suffering, and scarcity that we currently prize and perpetuate in our media and weigh it against all the benefits we'd receive from circulating the true "Good News" stories of the day, that it wouldn't be long before everything would change. Our whole world would come alive again in anticipation of the best news we could ever imagine.

Indeed, the added benefit of watching or reading the Good News coverage is that it is self-fulfilling. The more of it we put our attention on, the more of it we will create.

My Intention for today is:

I Intend that I am tuning out any news that doesn't feel good and that I am tuning into the good news in my life.
