Dorothy Hamill, 51 and on tour with "Broadway on Ice," will take some time out of the tour to be treated for breast cancer. Hamill is having her treatment at Kimmel Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins, and her prognosis looks good. She hopes to catch up with the tour Jan. 16-17 when it stops in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Middle eastern women will soon get a state-of-the-art Breast Cancer Research Institute. Panacea, an American pharmaceutical company, has indicated it is interested in establishing a center at Qatar Science and Technology Park. The proposed research center would focus on early detection and vaccine development.
