Herceptin Targets HER2-Positive Breast Cancer
HER2-positive breast cancer accounts for about one-third of all cases of breast cancer. It is aggressive and often metastatic, spreading beyond the original tumor site. Herceptin is a targeted biologic therapy that is added to your chemotherapy infusions, which hunts down only those cancer cells that have HER2/neu receptors on their outer surface. Herceptin attaches to the HER2 receptors and blocks the growth signal, preventing more cell division, and slowing the progress of the cancer. This drug extends survival for you, if you have HER2/neu positive breast cancer.

Neulasta (pegfilgrastim) Treatment for Low Neutrophil Count
Chemotherapy for breast cancer affects all the rapidly dividing cells in your body, including bone marrow cells, which produce white and red blood cells, and platelets. If your CBC shows that your neutrophil count is low, you may be neutropenic. Injections of Neulasta can boost production of your neutrophils, a special type of white blood cell that helps your body fight infections.
