We're close but not there yet.
Dear Gigi Karen,
We've spent years looking for cures for breast cancer.
Why aren't we also looking for the cause? We’re getting closer! Our Breast Cancer Environmental Research bill (BCERA) made it through the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) committee. Now on to the Senate floor! BCERA gets us critical research at NIH to examine the potential links between breast cancer and the environment. We need answers to what causes breast cancer and how to prevent it. You are helping us get there. When we asked you to get your members of Congress as cosponsors on this bill, you acted. And, now, nearly two-thirds of the House and Senate have co-sponsored BCERA. Now we need you to tell the leaders of the Senate to act on and pass this bill. Head on over to the Less Pink More Research site and urge Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to pass the Breast Cancer and Environmental Research Act this year. We are grateful for your help: together we can make this happen.

The Breast Cancer and Environmental Research Act (S. 579/H.R. 1157) could help find the answers to questions about what causes breast cancer and how to prevent it.
Your letters are working!

Members of Congress
Dear Senator Reid,
I am writing as a breast cancer activist to ask you to enact the bipartisan Breast Cancer & Environmental Research Act, S.579.
As the lead sponsor, you know that this important bill is supported by Members of Congress from across the political spectrum and would fund critical research at NIH to examine the potential links between breast cancer and the environment. We need you to use your position as Majority Leader to do all that you can to enact this legislation this year. The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee passed this bill in February, and now I ask you to bring this bill to the Senate Floor for a vote.
